For a long time, Black Adam - a character of DC Comics was introduced to the audience as the eternal enemy of Captain Marvel superhero (not the MCU heroine, he is currently known as Shazam). Initially, he was described as a person who often likes to challenge the Marvel superheroes. However, in recent years, Black Adam has been considered a suitable character for both the hero role and villain role.
The power of this character is very similar to the power of Shazam - all based on magic. It includes strength, endurance, immortality, flight and lightning control. Black Adam is often considered to be one of the greatest villains (in the comics) of all time and has been featured on television, social networks… besides comics. It is known that Dwayne Johnson will play Black Adam in a movie of the same name of this character, from DCEU.
Johnson previously confirmed that filming will begin this summer and is scheduled for release in 2021. The actor is also very interested in the character's film and believes that the character's introduction will create big change for DCEU. He even thinks Black Adam will be able to defeat the entire Justice League. More specifically, Johnson recently shared this opinion on Instagram Live.
He said: "What chance does the Justice League have against an angry Black Adam? What’s that term, no chance in hell." Certainly this statement will be controversial in the fan community, because as everyone knows, Justice League owns some of the most powerful heroes in the DC Universe. Previously, fans knew that The Rock would be involved in the Black Adam project since 2008 - the time when the Marvel Universe started with Iron Man.
Later, this character was rumored to appear in Shazam! in 2018, but that didn't happen. Since then, the actor has continuously shared some details about Black Adam and insisted that this character will be a lot more interesting than the comic version. Black Adam is one of three DC Comics movies to be released in 2021, alongside The Batman and The Suicide Squad. However, due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, production of these films could be delayed and as a result, their release dates could be postponed.
Of course, this could be detrimental to the future of DCEU, because of the successes of Wonder Woman, Aquaman and Shazam! may soon fade if new movies are postponed for too long. Let's wait and see how the studio will handle this problem!
