Marvel Studios executive vice president said the studio has no plans to recreate Chadwick Boseman in 'Black Panther 2' using CGI.

As originally planned, a Black Panther sequel was expected to continue bringing Chadwick Boseman back to the lead role, however this was unlikely as he passed away this past August. Fans have been shocked to learn that despite having to fight colorectal cancer since 2016, the actor is still trying to act in seven films, including Black Panther.

In 2019, the biggest superhero studio on the planet announced that Black Panther writer / director Ryan Coogler will also direct the sequel to keep up with release on May 6, 2022. The release date is still there, but for now, the people involved in the project don't want to think about it because Chadwick Boseman is gone. And recently, in a talk with Clarin, executive vice president - Victoria Alonso said that Black Panther 2 has no plans to bring the actor back using CGI.

Thereby, Victoria Alsonso - like those who worked with Chadwick Boseman wanted to take the time and think carefully about how to honor what the actor left behind for both the company and the brand. It is expected that production of Black Panther 2 will begin in March 2021, but it is likely that this schedule will soon be changed. For now, Marvel will probably go in a comic direction, giving Shuri the lead role.

Previously, Disney used CGI to bring the roles of Moff Tarkin (Peter Cushing) and Leia Organa (Carrie Fisher) back on Star Wars projects. And it's lucky to say they won't use that technology in Black Panther 2. No one wants the Black Panther series to end, but what Chadwick Boseman leaves behind is more important than the sequel. If the studio can't figure out the right way to create a movie without him, they probably shouldn't make a sequel.
