On the latest episode of the show on NBC, Amanda Lacount competed with a dancing performance. Amanda usually got called "fat" and "doesn't have a professional-dancer proportion". Her part received a bunch of the audience's applause. However, Heidi Klum unexpectedly pressed the X button in the middle of Amanda's performance, which led to a surprise-ovation.
On social networks, many people expressed objection to Heidi Klum and said that her action was rude and an act of body-shaming.
"Of course a supermodel will press the red X. Amanda had pushed herself too much to be on stage and all she got was that attitude. At least Heidi should let her finish her performance." - a comment on Twitter.
After her part, the judges split into two teams. While Sofia Vergara and Simon Cowell were interested in Amanda's dancing, Heidi Klum and Howie Mandel thought the performance didn't reach the show's standards. Klum said: "I think you're a great dancer. I love your spirit and your energy. It made me want to dance with you. However, I don't think your performance can help you win the million-dollar prize."
Heidi kept her opinion and didn't give Amanda the ticket to pass despite the objection from audience. Howie Mandel later decided to change his vote and gave her another chance, which mean Amanda received 3/4 votes. Although he added that he didn't think Amanda could do anything better at the show.
The German supermodel has gave any comments towards the problem. Some took on Heidi Klum's side and said that she totally had her right to express her perspectives.
