Evan Rachel Wood has been taking piano lessons to stave off her boredom while stuck at home during the coronavirus pandemic.
Like most Americans, the Westworld star is largely confined to her house and has time on her hands due to lockdown measures brought in by many governments to stop the spread of the disease COVID-19.
The 32-year-old actress isn’t wasting her unexpected staycation, however, as in addition to doing chores and homeschooling Jack, her six-year-old son with ex-husband Jamie Bell, she’s learning how to play the instrument.
Asked how she’s coping with having to stay at home, Evan tells Deadline.com: “I’m okay. You know I have a close family unit and have been homeschooling my kid and trying to just garden and take piano lessons and do all the things that I always put off that now we all have plenty of time to do and just keeping my spirits up.”
The actress also believes she’s coping better with self-isolation than some other stars as she’s more of an introvert.
"I think it’s the extroverts that are really freaking out right now,” The Ides of March star explains. “Like me and my introvert friends are like ‘we’ve been preparing for this our whole lives.”
She also sees some positives amid the gloom caused by a disease that has killed more than 70,000 people around the world as of Monday (April 6, 2020) and has crashed the global economy – as it may allow some people to take stock and reset their lives.
