Reese Witherspoon has made a donation to nonprofit DonorsChoose to support teachers in three Southern cities, Page Six has learned.
A rep for the charity told us when reached for comment: “The donation from Reese Witherspoon and [her fashion line] Draper James will support all of our highest-need teachers in New Orleans, Atlanta and Nashville, and many more throughout the country.”
The teachers get grants to spend on “resources such as books, notebooks, pencils, art supplies, activity kits and food, all shipped directly to their students’ homes.”
Draper James this week got flak for a giveaway that backfired when it underestimated demand: A million teachers entered the contest for a free dress, and the company was offering only 250.
