Actor Lee Yi Kyung was revealed to have helped rescue a man after he tried to commit suicide on Hannam Bridge.
On March 26, according to an exclusive report from Sports World, Lee Yi Kyung was involved in helping and rescuing a man on the Hannam Bridge. Specifically, in the early morning of March 19, a drunken man tried to rush into a truck driving on the bridge. Fortunately, the driver quickly realized the dangerous situation and stopped in time before crashing into him. However, after that, this man kept trying to rush into other cars moving on the bridge.
A witness at the scene said: "The truck driver got out and tried to keep the drunk person away. Actor Lee Yi Kyung's car is right behind the truck. The actor immediately got out of the car and helped the driver hold the drunk man back to avoid causing more dangerous situations."
The witness continued, “Lee Yi Kyung held the drunk man for a very long time as he was trying to get into the running lane or jump the bridge to commit suicide. Everyone seemed very worried, scared and didn't know what to do, so they couldn't get out to help, but Lee Yi Kyung didn't seem to hesitate. He also took off his shirt to cover the shaking drunk man. He saved that person's life.”
Moments later, the police arrived at the scene and took the drunk man to a safe place. Responding to the reports, Lee Yi Kyung's management company HB Entertainment stated, “We also learned about this through the articles. We contacted Lee Yi Kyung and he confirmed that the report was true. He said that he ran out of the car because there was a problem with the truck in front of him, and the situation seemed dangerous. He felt embarrassed because such an action was made public."
Meanwhile, Lee Yi Kyung was recently appointed as the ambassador for the 112 emergency phone line in South Korea.
