Korean Actor Kim Soo-hyun expressed his feelings about Moon Kang-tae, who is the main character of cable channel tvN's new weekend drama "It's Okay to Not Be Okay" (playwright Cho Yong, director Park Shin-woo).
"It's Okay to Be Not Okay" is a slightly strange romantic comedy about a fantasy fairytale-like love that Moon Kang-tae (Kim Soo-hyun), a mental ward guardian who rejects love due to the heavyweight of life, and a fairy tale writer Ko Ye-young (Seo Ye-ji), who doesn't know love due to birth defects, are taking care of each other's wounds.
Kim Soo-hyun, who was strongly attracted by the title "It's Okay to Not Be Okay" said about Moon Kang-tae character: "He's a person that breaks the heart of a member. As everyone is, don't you become stronger and more shrewd than anyone else outside or in front of others, but when you are alone, you are disarmed and fall apart? Kang Tae looks fine, but in fact, he is always tired of what he carries. Kim Soo Hyun also expressed his sorrow for his character: "I thought there might be someone like Kang Tae somewhere".
In particular, Moon Kang-tae is a character who lives without dreams or hopes, taking care of his older brother Moon Sang-tae (Oh Jung-se), who has autism at home, and protecting patients who are heartbroken outside, but can't take care of his own life, which is expected to express Kim Soo-hyun's emotional performance more deeply and delicately.
Kim Soo-hyun said, "Moon Kang-tae doesn't show his inmost feelings to the people around him. In particular, he never shows his feelings in front of his brother, who understands Kang Tae's emotions. I hope many people will sympathize with these parts of the drama".
Finally, Kim Soo-hyun said, "I hope all of you guys will pay attention to each character in the drama. In particular, if you immerse yourself in the drama, it will be more fun to watch".
Meanwhile, "It's Okay not To Be Okay" will premiere on June 20 at 9pm (KST).
