On September 14 (KST), two of the biggest female K-pop stars – BLACKPINK Rosé and CL – took everyone's breath away with their entrance at Met Gala 2021's red carpet at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.

Met Gala, is known as the most prestigious and largest fashion event in the U.S., attended by A-list stars, models, and designers such as Billie Eilish, Rihanna, Jennifer Lopez, and Kardashian sister, more.

On the same day, a Korean media outlet pointed out the difference between BLACKPINK Rosé and CL's Met Gala attire.

Along with Saint Laurent's creative director Anthony Vaccarello, the "On the Ground" singer and global ambassador of the luxury brand exhibited a black and white customized dress with white ribbon details to complete a bold party look.

The female idol's jewelry also drew more attention by adding metal & enamel clover choker and colorful drop earrings.

According to fashion enthusiasts, BLACKPINK Rosé brought back the 1960 American fashion but tweaked it to match the current trends.

CL Showcases a Fusion of Korean and American Fashion

Although the theme is mostly focused on American fashion, CL didn't leave out her Korean culture – wearing a fusion outfit of the two nationalities.

In particular, her dress is a reinterpretation of Hanbok, a Korean traditional dress. To add the symbol of American fashion, the "ALPHA" singer's outfit was made of denim, one of America's fashion staples.

To add to the unconventional look, she wore white underwear only for the inner layer of the ensemble, finishing the look with traditional makeup and hairstyle.
