On January 27, TXT made their return with their fifth Korean mini album “The Name Chapter: TEMPTATION” and its catchy title track “Sugar Rush Side.”
The following day, Oricon officially announced that “The Name Chapter: TEMPTATION” had debuted at No. 1 on its daily album chart after selling 184,971 copies on the first day of its release in Japan alone.
Notably, TXT’s previous Korean mini album “minisode 2: Thursday’s Child” sold a total of 179,421 copies in Japan in 2022, meaning that it took “The Name Chapter: TEMPTATION” just one day to surpass its predecessor’s total Japanese sales for last year.
Additionally, “Sugar Rush Ride” has become TXT’s highest-ranking song to date on Spotify’s Global Top Songs chart. The song debuted at No. 38 after racking up an impressive 2,216,222 filtered streams on its first day alone—setting a new record for the highest number of first-day streams for any song by a fourth-generation K-pop group on Spotify.
All of TXT’s B-sides from “The Name Chapter: TEMPTATION” made it into the top 120 of Spotify’s Global Top Songs chart as well: “Tinnitus” entered the chart at No. 70 (with 1,747,791 streams), “Devil by the Window” at No. 73 (1,694,585 streams), “Farewell, Neverland” at No. 91 (1,456,773 streams), and “Happy Fools” (featuring Coi Leray) at No. 112 (1,349,619 streams).
Congratulations to TXT!
