On January 27 at 2 p.m. KST, TXT made their highly-anticipated comeback with their latest mini album “The Name Chapter: TEMPTATION” and its new title track “Sugar Rush Ride.”
According to Hanteo Chart, “The Name Chapter: TEMPTATION” sold an impressive total of 1,868,919 copies on its first day of sales alone—more than doubling TXT’s previous first-day sales record of 918,413 and managing to break their previous first-week sales record of 1,248,370 (both set by their previous mini album “minisode 2: Thursday’s Child“) in just one day.
TXT is now only the second artist in Hanteo history to surpass 1.8 million sales on the first day of an album’s release, following BTS.
“The Name Chapter: TEMPTATION” also achieved the fourth-highest first-day sales of any album in Hanteo history, bested only by the BTS albums “Map of the Soul: 7,” “Proof,” and “BE.”
Additionally, both “The Name Chapter: TEMPTATION” and “Sugar Rush Ride” have already topped iTunes charts in numerous countries all over the world. As of 9 a.m. KST on January 28, “The Name Chapter: TEMPTATION” had hit No. 1 on iTunes Top Albums charts in at least 30 different regions, while “Sugar Rush Ride” had reached No. 1 on iTunes Top Songs charts in at least 17 regions across the globe.
TXT’s music video for “Sugar Rush Ride” has also been racking up views at breakneck speed. By 1 p.m. KST on January 28—less than 24 hours after its release—the video had already surpassed 15 million views on YouTube. The music video also reached No. 1 on YouTube Trends in South Korea and No. 2 in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom.
Meanwhile, “The Name Chapter: TEMPTATION” has enjoyed a strong start on domestic music charts, with TXT becoming the first group in history ever to simultaneously chart all the songs from one mini album in the top 10 of Melon’s Top 100 chart.
