On Dec. 18, NetBase Quid revealed the 10 most-mentioned artists on social media regarding "New Music" and four of them are Korean artists including the global boy group BTS and its member Jin as well as two BLACKPINK members.

BTS and Jin are Among the Top 10 Most-Mentioned Artists on Social Media in December under the 'New Music' Category
On the list, BTS was revealed to be the artist with the second-most mentions on social media this month (so far). The 21st-century pop icon became a hot topic on Dec. 6 after each member launched his personal Instagram account. That was also the day when members Jin, Jimin and Jungkook returned to Korea after completing their schedules in the United States.
Big Hit Music also announced that time that BTS will focus on preparing for an upcoming in-person concert in Seoul and a new album.

Besides this, BTS was mentioned numerous times on social media due to winning at the 2021 Asia Artist Awards and 2021 Mnet Asian Awards. At 2021 MAMA, in particular, the septet won all four Daesang for the third consecutive time. Overall, they won nine awards at 2021 MAMA.
While BTS recorded the second-most mentions, BTS member Jin was the fifth most-mentioned artist on social media concerning "New Music." It can be recalled that Jin released the trot song "Super Tuna" on Dec. 4. The male idol co-produced the track with BUMZU.

BTS Jin proved his massive popularity online with his first appearance on Billboard's Hot Trending Songs Chart. His song "Super Tuna" debuted at No. 12 on the chart for the week ending on Dec. 18.
Jin has now entered Hot Trending Songs Chart as a soloist twice - he first landed on the chart with "Yours," which scored No. 6 for the week ending on Nov. 20. Additionally, he is now the male K-pop soloist with the most appearances on the tally.
BLACKPINK Lisa and Rosé Secured Spots on the Top 10 Most-Mentioned Artists on Social Media in December about 'New Music'
According to the list, BLACKPINK member Lisa has the third-most mentions on social media this month when it comes to new music. While the Thai rapper didn't release new songs this month, her debut songs "LALISA" and "MONEY" have remained popular among fans.

In fact, Lisa's "LALISA" has now spent eight weeks on Billboard's Hot Trending Songs chart, which is based on Twitter mentions. For the week ending on Dec. 18, the song climbed up to No. 9 after descending to No. 15 in the previous week.
Aside from her debut tracks, BLACKPINK Lisa also released the collab song "SG" with DJ Snake, Ozuna and Megan Thee Stallion in October.

Meanwhile, BLACKPINK Rosé is the sixth most-mentioned artist on social media in December. Like her bandmate Lisa, Rosé also didn't drop a new track recently but she won several awards with her debut song "On the Ground." One of those is "Best Dance Performance (Solo)" at 2021 MAMA.
