Being a defining voice of a group means that the member’s voice is so distinct that they pretty much make you say, “oh, this song’s from this group.” It’s almost as if that member marked the song with their signature. Granted, every voice of every member in every group makes them unique. However, these are the voices fans find easiest to pick out from 10 different groups.
1. MAMAMOO – Hwasa
MAMAMOO is known as a vocal powerhouse as every member has a distinct voice. However, if fans had to pick, Hwasa is the voice they can pick out the most as it’s very deep and soft.
2. ENHYPEN – Jungwon
Jungwon’s bright tone with a slightly nasally sound makes him easy for fans to pick out. Many of them say that on the first listen of most ENHYPEN songs, his voice is the most recognizable.
3. TWICE – Sana
For TWICE, Sana seemed to be the unanimous answer. However, fans shared that the whole group is so unique that they feel a song would sound odd if one of them were missing.
4. Stray Kids – Felix
Felix was unanimously picked, and aside from his distinctly Australian English, his voice is surprisingly deep and complex. Felix's deep voice is such iconic that almost left everybody shocked at first when he starts singing or rapping.
5. BLACKPINK – Rosé
BLACKPINK was another group where fans said that the whole group was distinct. However, when it got down to it, Rosé was the one most fans chose as you almost always know it’s her when she’s singing. Her voice holds so many emotions that you can totally feel the stories, the feelings behind each song.
6. EXO – Baekhyun
Baekhyun is an outstanding vocalist who fans love for his adlibs. Chanyeol was a very close second with his amazingly deep voice.
7. NCT – Mark and Taeyong
NCT was surprisingly practically tied. Mark’s English rap is practically a neon sign of his name. While Taeyong’s deep, reverberating voice echoes through everyone’s head. Together, they make up a powerful duo in every song of NCT and make these songs more recognizable with fans and non-fans.
8. SHINee – The late Jonghyun
Of course, Jonghyun’s breathy voice is a distinct signature on every one of his songs. Although SHINee’s voices are all quite distinctive, Jonghyun’s is one that fans can pick out immediately.
9. Red Velvet – Seulgi
For Red Velvet, it was somewhat close between Seulgi and Joy, but most fans agreed that Seulgi’s voice was a truly unique piece to Red Velvet.
10. BIGBANG – G-Dragon
G-Dragon’s voice is one of the most iconic voices in all of K-Pop. His nasal tone and iconic voice are essential to BIGBANG. It has the swag, sassiness and a bit anger but when singing to a ballad song, GD's voice turns emotional which can touch anybody's heart.
