SUPER JUNIOR's Eunhyuk has been selected as the new host for MBC Every1's variety show 'Weekly Idol'.
On April 17, 'Weekly Idol' told news outlets, "Eunhyuk has been confirmed as our new host. Eunhyuk's filming will be revealed for the first time on April 22." They added that the guest of the upcoming episode will be GOT7.
Eunhyuk will appear on 'Weekly Idol' as the new host starting April 22. He will work with singer Hwang Kwang Hee, who is the existing host.
'Weekly Idol' has continued its special host system, which includes Hwang Kwang Hee and one more host, since it carried out an MC reshuffle in February. Eunhyuk's joining is expected to make a new leap forward for "Weekly Idol."
Eunhyuk is a top idol in South Korea, who has been a vanguard of the K-Pop craze for 15 years since his debut in the K-Pop scene with Super Junior in 2005. So the audience has much expectations about his new role.
Attention is also focusing on what kind of chemistry Eunhyuk will show with Hwang Kwang Hee, who has already been recognized for his stable hosting skills through various entertainment shows.
Since its launch in 2011, 'Weekly Idol' has maintained its unique position as an 'original idol entertainment show' to the extent that it is considered a must-have course for rookies to top idols.
Starring Eunhyuk, Hwang Kwang Hee and GOT7, 'Weekly Idol' will air at 5 PM on next Wednesday, April 22.
