The singer has talked about the feeling when release single 'GOTTA GO' after a year and nine months. She said, “I was excited about showing fans a dance track for the first time in a while,” the singer said. “I’m a bit sad and disappointed that I cant meet with fans up close because of COVID-19, but I gained strength from the thought that I was giving them new music.”

Soyou explained why she had chosen to release a single rather than an album. “I’m the type of person to put a lot of my own thoughts in an album,” she said. “That’s why it takes me a long time to complete one album. But when I heard this song, it was so good, and I felt it would take too long to include it in an album. I wouldn’t have been able to release it this summer, so I decided to release it as a single.”

About her solo career, she said, “The songs ‘The Night’ and ‘All Night’ suit my voice well, but I felt like there were some parts that were lacking in the performance. I focused on the performance for ‘GOTTA GO,’ so I hope that more people will be able to enjoy it.”

She continued, “There are so many things I want to challenge from a musical perspective. I want to try all kinds of genres and I want to develop my skills to the point at which I can produce a whole song by myself.”

On June 4, the members of SISTAR took to social media to commemorate their 10th anniversary. SISTAR disbanded in 2017 to pursue solo careers in music and acting.

“To be honest, while talking with the members on our 10th anniversary, I felt strange,” Soyou said. “I realized that people’s feelings are quite simple and that my own feelings are still quite strong. I think I was most struck by the number ’10,’ and my heart raced for the first time in a while. That day, I patted myself on the back and told myself I had worked hard.”
