Along with news that Sungchan and Shotaro will leave NCT and debut in a new boy group, SM revealed further details through a new video titled “SM 3.0: NEW IP 2023.”
In the video, SM Entertainment CEO Jang Cheol Hyuk shares SM’s plans for the launch of new IP this year.
NCT’s new team is set to be the last chapter of NCT’s expansion and will include a greater proportion of Japanese members. Two new SM Rookies who will join the team will be announced soon, and other members will be chosen through a pre-debut reality show. Shohei, who was previously revealed as part of SM Rookies, will not be joining due to health reasons and will instead carry out individual activities.
Sungchan and Shotaro will debut in a new boy group with SM Rookies Eunseok and Seunghan along with other members of Korean and American nationalities.
A new girl group is also preparing to debut in the fourth quarter of 2023.
