On August 17, Kakao Entertainment announced that they will launch the omnibus webtoon “NCT: Dream Contact” and the web novel “Rise & Realize” in collaboration with SM Entertainment.
The omnibus-style webtoon “NCT: Dream Contact” consists of a total of five episodes, containing the concept of NCT’s universe in which people empathize with each other through dreams and become one through music. Writers ZQ, Seogeul, and Kim Ho Ae participated in the production, and it will be published simultaneously in North America and Japan via Kakao Webtoon and Kakao Page on August 18 at 10 p.m. KST.
The web novel “Rise & Realize” tells the stories of characters, who are the members of SM’s rookie boy group RIIZE, maturing as they overcome difficulties. With a total of eight episodes, the web novel will be released every Saturday for three weeks from August 19 via Kakao Page. Writer No Gon and illustrator Nak Di participated in the novel’s creation.
Kakao Entertainment remarked, “It is meaningful in that it is the first storytelling IP collaboration with SM Entertainment, which has led global K-pop trends. We plan to continue to carry out various projects on storytelling IP targeting the global market in the future.”
