"Wendy is working with the goal of releasing a solo album in April," her agency SM Entertainment announced on March 10. "Please look forward to it."
It is the first time in seven years since her debut that she has become a solo artist. Irene & Seulgi had previously started as a unit, but Wendy is the first member to go solo.
Wendy debuted as the main vocalist of Red Velvet in 2015 and left many hit songs. She is considered a talented vocalist for her outstanding singing ability, clear and warm voice and delicate expression. However, in December 2019, she temporarily suspended her activities due to injuries, falling 2.5 meters below the stage during a rehearsal for the '2019 SBS Music Awards' held at Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul.
In August last year, about eight months after the incident, she announced her return by participating in the 20th anniversary project of BoA titled 'Our Beloved BoA'.
As Wendy, who has participated in various drama OSTs and featuring and has proven her solo skills, is releasing a solo album 7 years after her debut, attention is drawn to what kind of music color she will show to fans and listeners.
