NCT Dream Jisung and Chenle, two official maknaes of the group NCT get their fans excited when appearing in the July edition of 'Elle' Magazine. In the interview and pictorial for Elle, they have shared about their growing up as an idol.
The two NCT Dream members, who are famous for being best friends, expressed their excitement at posing for their very first duo pictorial for the magazine’s July issue.
The pictorial captured the summer scenery of Jisung and Chenle. Filming, which ran through the evening at a detached house studio with a garden, captured the growth of two men growing from boys to young men with the passage of time. As it was the first pictorial with the two, Chenle and Jisung also showed high expectations even before the shooting. "It's already the fifth summer we've spent together," they said in a post-picture interview.
Jisung and Chenle debuted at a very young age, and they almost have spent their entire time together. When asked what made them feel like they had grown up, Ji Sung said, "The conversation has widened. I think I've grown up when I can look at myself without being generous to myself". Chenle also said, "If you feel you're all grown up, maybe it's because you're still young. I think I grew up when I can admit my shortcomings".
He also expressed his desire for skills. Chenle said, "Even if other people don't notice, there are times when I feel like I'm not good enough. Especially when that happens, I focus and practice more". Jisung added, "Because we debuted at a young age, I think it’s unavoidable that all of our members are especially ambitious about wanting to improve our skills. We feel it even more when we see senior artists perform".
Asked how it feels to be the youngest members of a big group called NCT, both of them said, "Of course we like it. It feels like there are a ton of people with whom we’re really close".
In April, NCT Dream made their most successful comeback with their latest mini album “Reload.” In addition to topping iTunes Top Albums charts in 51 different regions across the globe, the mini album earned NCT Dream their first Gaon double platinum certification after selling over 500,000 copies in just over a month. The group’s title track “Ridin’” also became the first NCT song ever to reach No. 1 on Melon’s realtime music chart.
