Boy group MONSTA X has teamed up with American rapper Snoop Dogg for the song "How We Do," part of the official soundtrack for the animated film "The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run."

Starship Entertainment has confirmed that the six-piece boy group has collaborated with the hip-hop icon in an upbeat dance track in a press release. In the animated film, the song plays as Patrick and Spongebob are in a western saloon filled with zombies. Snoop Dogg, in a colorful pirate ensemble, raps the verses. The sequence ends as El Diablo, played by pop culture icon Danny Trejo, arrives at the saloon.

MONSTA X has recently concluded its promotional activities for its latest hit single, "Love Killa," from their third studio album, "Fatal Love." In the short time since the music video for "Love Killa" was released, it managed to secure two wins from different music shows in South Korea: one from the Nov. 10 episode of SBS MTV's "The Show" and another from the Nov. 11 episode of MBC M's "Show Champion."

The six-member boy group - Shownu, Minhyuk, Kihyun, Hyungwon, Jooheon, and IM - first made waves across the global K-Pop community with its 2017 World Tour, making stops in various countries including Japan and the US. Furthermore, their first English-language album, "All About Luv," debuted right at the fifth spot of the US album charts, the Billboard 200, earning even more attention from global media outlets and fans.

The latest movie is based on the animated TV series "SpongeBob SquarePants," a live-action/ computer-animated adventure film produced by Paramount Animation and Nickelodeon Movies, along with series creator Stephen Hillenburg's United Plankton Pictures, media company MRC, and animation studio Mikros Image.

In "Sponge on the Run," SpongeBob and his best friend Patrick go off on a rescue mission to save SpongeBob's pet snail Gary, who was abducted by King Poseidon, carrying the snail to the lost Atlantic City. The film also reveals SpongeBob and Gary's first meeting as children.

Aside from Snoop Dogg and Danny Trejo, the film also features Hollywood A-listers, including Keanu Reeves, Awkwafina, and Tiffany Hadish.

"The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run" was first theatrically released in Canada on Aug. 14. It recently received a worldwide digital release on Netflix's online streaming service on Nov. 5, except for the United States. It will have a premium video-on-demand and CBS All Access release in the United States by early 2021.
