As part of her birthday celebrations, MAMAMOO’s Wheein shared a special cover! Wheein released her cover of American singer Kehlani’s “Honey” on April 17. Kehlani took notice and showed how much she liked it by sharing the tweet and adding emojis with heart eyes.
In 2018, Wheein also shared her hope to collaborate with Kehlani and said that she’d like to see her perform one day, as well as encouraged her to keep making great music. Kehlani replied to her via Twitter, “Awww, thank you Wheein! It’s coming!! Hope to meet you soon.”
She recalled an incident where the members, Solar and Moonbyul, began to discuss her best friend in the group, Hwasa, in front of her. They began to tell Wheein that Hwasa doesn’t fit with the team’s color. They said, “It’s not something you should think about emotionally because you’re friends.”
She was straightforward with her opinions of thinking Hwasa is a needed part of the group, but the girls made her feel like she was the one with the skewed opinion. The whole situation showed Wheein’s true character and loyalty as a friend. Her will to give up her dream job for someone she cares about is admirable and we love her for it!
