LOONA Olivia Hye Updates Fans For The First Time In 3 Months After Losing Her Injunction Against BlockBerry Creative
Back on January 13th, it was reported that Heejin, Kim Lip, Jinsoul, and Choerry won their injunctions to suspend their exclusive contracts with Blockberry Creative, while Haseul, Yeojin, Yves, Go Won and Olivia Hye lost. The results meant the exclusive contracts of the 4 members who won had now been suspended, while the other 5 remained as labelmates for the time being. Additionally, it was reported on February 3rd that the last two LOONA members HyunJin and Vivi had officially filed to nullify their exclusive contracts with BlockBerry Creative.
The 4 members who won their lawsuits had the same contracts as Chuu, while provisions in Haseul, Yeojin, Yves, Gowon, and Olivia Hye's contracts underwent changes a year or two ago, and the court did not find the contracts unfair.
On February 5th, Olivia Hye updated fans, saying: “Hi Orbit, I'm sending you my first message in such a long time. I think Orbits would be hurting no matter what I say, so it's not easy for me to speak.”
She continued to hint at what’s coming for the group, explaining “I believe you will be getting news soon, but I wanted to reach out to you before that. From the bottom of my heart, thank you. I'm going to work up strength, so that I can stand in front of Orbits looking better than now. It's late, but wishing you lots of New Year's blessings too, and I hope that this year Orbits and Loona both will be able to smile brightly.”
After reading her update, fans couldn’t help but speculate on the upcoming news, commenting: “Disbandment news soon..,” “Please just anything in favor of the girls,” “Disbandment or Universal Music Japan acquiring them,” “It sounds depressing that disbandment would be the best news..,” “Freedom soon.”
Meanwhile, it was previously reported on January 21st that Olivia Hye had stepped down from Kakao Entertainment’s girl group survival show ‘GIRL’S RE:VERSE’ due to sudden health issues.
Stay tuned for more LOONA updates.
