Lai Kuanlin, a former member of boy group Wanna One, will continue his independent career by starring in the Chinese drama 'Don't Bother My Studies'.
According to a report by SpotvNews on June 29, Lai Kuanlin has participated in an official event held on June 22 and confirmed his appearance in the Chinese drama 'Don't Bother My Studies'.
'Don't Bother My Studies' is a youth film depicting educational problems seen from the perspective of high school students, and tells the story of heroine Nan Xiangwan (Landy Li), a student called a troublemaker.
In the drama, Lai Kuanlin plays the male lead Lin Xiaolan, challenging his second acting. Earlier, he received positive responses for his good performance in 'A Little Thing Called First Love', where he also played a main role. Expectations are high on what kind of transformation he will show in 'Don't Bother My Studies'.
Lai Kuanlin is currently in a legal dispute with his agency Cube Entertainment. In July last year, the Chinese idol filed an injunction against Cube to suspend their exclusive contract, and the injunction was rejected as the court ruled in favor of Cube in a total of two trials. He said he was preparing to file a lawsuit against the original case separately from the injunction, adding that he had submitted the petition to the court in June.
While the conflict between Lai Kuanlin and his agency continues, fans are paying attention to what will happen between the two sides as their star continues his own activities in China.
