Korean Internet angered as Seungri attends party before enlistment
After many delays, Seungri (former Big Bang member) will officially enlist in the army on March 6. People thought that after a series of scandals, the male idol will quietly join the army.
However, the image of Seungri happily attending a party with his friends made Korean Internet users angry and outraged. Specifically, on his personal account, DJ Glory of Natural High Records has posted a picture of a cake with a number 18 made of candle on it (corresponding to the number of months of military service Seungri will perform.) There was also a line saying: “Cheer up for 18 months.”
At Seungri's party, in addition to his famous friends, there are some of his associates in Burning Sun – the club Seungri once managed, which encountered many scandals. And this made Korean netizens even more angry. One said "I guess he didn't feel even a little embarrassed when taking these photos!". Another added, "Now that I see it, Seungri is the most popular member in Big Bang". One went even further, "He must be disappointed when pretending to be inferior to GD this whole time!”.
Seungri’s enlistment in the army (while he is being prosecuted for many serious criminal offenses) has caused many people to be confused as his scandal would probably go to a dead end.
However, according to the Korean military manpower management agency (MMA), the allegations of crimes of the former Bigbang member will continue to be heard through the military investigation unit under the military court system.
