There’s no denying that TXT‘s Huening Kai and Kep1er‘s Huening Bahiyyih are one of the most powerful sibling duos in K-Pop. The two regularly show off their adorable support for each other, especially through TikTok challenges.
Their entire family is incredibly talented, with their older sister Lea Navvab Huening having been a former member of the group VIVA. Each of the siblings has their own incredible vocal and dance skills, along with the charisma they bring to every stage.
While fans love the sibling’s interactions, fans of Kep1er called out the 2022 The Fact Music Awards (also known as FMAs) for their treatment of Kep1er and Huening Bahiyyih on the red carpet.
Since her debut, Huening Bahiyyih has made a name for herself for her performance ability, dedication to her fans, and stunning visuals.
Because of the idol’s passion and sincerity, she has gained a lot of devoted fans who continually advocate for Huening Bahiyyih despite a lot of the harassment the idol has faced.
Since appearing on Mnet‘s Girls Planet 999, Huening Bahiyyih has been the target of malicious comments from netizens. Heartbreakingly, the idol’s uncle has admitted that Huening Bahiyyih is aware of the hate she receives. During Girls Planet 999, the comments got so bad that the production directors Kim Shin Young and Jung Woo Young spoke out.
Although Kep1er’s company WAKEONE has stated that “strong measures without leniency will be taken” against “malicious postings, defamation, and false rumors,” fans were still concerned that not enough action was being taken.
Of course, fans of Kep1er have often spoken up against WAKEONE, not only for Huening Bahiyyih’s treatment but for the mistreatment of the group as a whole.
After the FMAs, Kep1er fans are addressing their frustration with the lack of respect Huening Bahiyyih and Kep1er received. During the group’s interview on the red carpet, fans were appalled to see that the first question focused on Huening Bahiyyih’s brother, asking if they were supporting each other rather than asking anything about the group.
During the award show, Kep1er won the “Hot Artist” award alongside TNX and gave a video game-inspired performance of their hit song “Up!” So although the second question Kep1er was asked was about their incredible performances, fans understandably believe it should have been asked first.
Although Huening Bahiyyih answered the question well, fans are still frustrated that she’s continually being portrayed as “just [Huening Kai’s] sister” rather than receiving attention for her hard work, talent, and passion.
A member of the FMAs‘ staff even complimented Huening Bahiyyih for her kindness at the event, proving the idol’s true personality.
