Ji Jin Hee And ASTRO's Sanha Have The Perfect Father-Son Relationship In "Romance In The House"
Penned by Kim Young Yoon of “My Secret Romance” and directed by Kim Da Ye of “My ID Is Gangnam Beauty,” “Romance in the House” depicts the journey of individuals who were once estranged but strive to reunite as a family, recognizing the profound effort, introspection, and tears required. Ji Jin Hee stars as Byun Moo Jin, who was divorced by his wife 11 years ago when his business collapsed, while Kim Ji Soo plays Byun Moo Jin’s ex-wife Geum Ae Yeon, who raised her two children alone while navigating through all kinds of hardships.
The newly released stills highlight the strong bond between Byun Moo Jin and Byun Hyun Jae (Sanha). Unlike Ae Yeon and Mi Rae (Son Naeun), who are always on edge with crossed arms and wary glances at the sight of Moo Jin, Hyun Jae beams with a joyful smile and stays close to his father. He even displays an endearing puppy-like charm, reminiscent of a large dog wagging its tail in excitement.
There is also a striking contrast to Moo Jin’s past, when his business troubles caused family turmoil. Now a successful property owner, Moo Jin generously hands over his credit card to his son, and Hyun Jae looks at him with admiration and respect.
The only one fully supporting their family’s reunion, Hyun Jae will act as Moo Jin’s right-hand man, working to bring his parents back together. Moo Jin’s sudden appearances wherever Ae Yeon is can be attributed to his loyal son, Hyun Jae, who acts as a secret informant.
However, Hyun Jae’s eagerness to welcome Moo Jin has its own twist. While Moo Jin’s rise to wealth is shrouded in mystery, Hyun Jae also has his own hidden motives. Unlike Mi Rae, who will create intense drama with Moo Jin with her mother in between, Hyun Jae will chart his own course and show a charming resemblance to his father. Watching these contrasting dynamics within the family will add an engaging layer to the story.
The production team commented, “In contrast to the intense triangle of Moo Jin aiming to reunite the family, Mi Rae resisting, and Ae Yeon finding herself in the middle, Moo Jin and Hyun Jae will come together with a shared goal of family reunification, showcasing the strength of their father-son alliance. Please look forward to their dynamic, which will add energy and humor to the show.”
“Romance in the House” is set to premiere on August 10 at 10:30 p.m. KST, following the conclusion of “Miss Night and Day.”
