HYBE Sees Increase in Stock Price Following the Release of BTS 'Butter' CD
In the past three consecutive days, HYBE saw a downward trend in the stock market, according to the Korea Exchange. But, thanks to the latest release of BTS, the company found its way up once again.
HYBE's Stock Price Ascends after the Release of BTS "Butter" CD
On July 9 at 1 p.m. KST, BTS dropped their single CD "Butter," which contains their latest English-language hit "Butter" together with the new song "Permission to Dance" and the instrumental versions for these two tracks.
As of the morning of July 8, the Korea Exchange stated that HYBE is trading at 296,500 won in the stock market, showing a decrease of 0.34% (1,000 won) compared to the previous day.
As of 2:20 p.m. KST on July 9, the company recorded 305,000 won at their stock price, marking an increase of 3.74% (11,000 won) compared to the result on July 8.
In the morning of July 9, HYBE stayed at approximately 200,000 won, but after BTS's comeback at 1 p.m. KST, the stock price significantly rose and surpass 300,000 won, which is the label's typical trading amount.
As of 2:20 p.m. KST on July 9, BTS's "Butter" CD quickly surpassed 115,000 copies sold on the Hanteo Chart.
The "Butter" CD went on to sell more thousands of copies until it reached a total of 1,711,870 copies sold before the day ended.
It is the boy group's third-highest first-day sales of all time, following "BE" with 1,950,106 copies and "MAP OF THE SOUL: 7" with 2,653,050 copies.
BTS "Permission to Dance" Tops More Than 90 iTunes Charts and Apple Music around the World
Meanwhile, BTS's new English song "Permission to Dance," which Ed Sheeran co-wrote and co-composed, has risen to No. 1 of numerous iTunes charts across the globe.
As of 9 a.m. KST on July 10, "Permission to Dance" ranked first on iTunes Songs charts in a total of 92 countries, including the United States, Australia, Germany, Italy, Canada, Japan, and Russia.
Additionally, BTS's "Permission to Dance" has debuted at No. 1 on the Worldwide iTunes Song Chart.
The English track has also entered the Top 200 of Apple Music US and the Top 100 of Apple Music UK, securing the Nos. 159 and 99, respectively. It later peaked at No. 109 on the Apple Music US chart.
"Permission to Dance" continuously rank on Korean music charts on July 10. As of 11 a.m. KST, it stayed strong at No. 1 on Genie and Bugs and rose to No. 5 and No. 10 on FLO and MelOn, respectively.
Meanwhile, BTS is scheduled to perform "Permission to Dance" during their upcoming guest appearance on the American talk show, "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" next week.
The group will appear on the program for two nights on July 13 at 14 at 11:35 p.m. ET.
