Back in 2021, Yugyeom signed with AOMG after parting ways with his longtime agency JYP Entertainment. Two years later, the singer is currently in the midst of touring Asia with several of his labelmates as part of AOMG’s 2023 “FOLLOW THE MOVEMENT” world tour.
At the time of his interview, Yugyeom had just flown back to Korea from the label’s Singapore concert, and he spoke enthusiastically about the experience.
“At AOMG’s concerts, all these different artists gather and each perform [the kinds of music] that they’re good at individually,” noted Yugyeom. “But then when we perform a group song together, it’s like we’re one team, which I found fascinating and fun.”
When asked if he had gotten used to promoting solo without the other GOT7 members, Yugyeom replied, “There are pros and cons, but right now, I think promoting solo suits me better.”
He continued, “Now, my relationship with the other GOT7 members is like we’re old friends.”
Yugyeom went on to share, “These days, I’ve gotten into MMA [mixed martial arts].” Mentioning that he’s now labelmates with UFC fighter Jung Chan Sung, he added, “I go to work out at Chan Sung’s gym almost every single day.”
Finally, the singer revealed, “My goal is to show my face often with new music and performances.”
Yugyeom’s full interview and pictorial can be found in the February issue of Arena Homme Plus magazine.
