Gong Yoo Joins Song Hye Kyo In Talks For New Drama By "Coffee Prince" Director And "That Winter, The Wind Blows" Scriptwriter
On April 24, it was reported that Gong Yoo is in discussions to take on the lead role in a new project penned by acclaimed scriptwriter No Hee Kyung. Previously, it was revealed that Song Hye Kyo is positively in talks to also star in the drama.
In response to the report, a representative from Gong Yoo’s agency Management SOOP shared, “It is true that Gong Yoo has received an offer for No Hee Kyung’s new project. He is currently reviewing it.”
According to reports, Noh Hee Kyung’s new project is a modern historical drama that depicts the realistic scenes of people in the broadcasting industry. The drama will capture the passion of the people who passed through a turbulent historical tunnel and experienced the birth of South Korea’s entertainment industry.
Noh Hee Kyung previously penned “It’s Okay, That’s Love,” “Dear My Friends,” “Our Blues,” and more. She has also previously collaborated with Song Hye Kyo in the 2008 drama “Worlds Within” and the 2013 drama “That Winter, The Wind Blows.”
Meanwhile, director Lee Yoon Jung, recognized for her successful works such as “Coffee Prince,” “Cheese in the Trap,” and “The Lies Within,” will take the helm.
