SHINee Taemin and BTS Jungkook: Best K-pop Male Vocalists Chosen by K-pop Insiders
According to Sol and Gina who have been in the K-pop industry for a long time, the best male vocalists for them are SHINee Taemin and BTS Jungkook.
The former YG vocal trainer, who also claimed to be a SHINee fan, chose Taemin as the best idol vocalist.
She explained, "First of all, I think he is an artist now, he totally broke out the idol boundary."
Indeed, from being the main dancer of the legendary group who hardly has any lines in their early days, Sol explained how he improved as a soloist and as a singer.
Aside from this, the two insiders also mentioned how SHINee's "Sherlock," became a game-changer in K-pop because of its incredible concept.
As for Gina Maeng, she selected BTS Jungkook whom she praised for his great voice tone. She pointed out, "I really like how he rides the beat on dance numbers."
Gfriend Yuju, f(x) Luna and More: Best K-pop Female Vocalists Chosen by K-pop Insiders
Moving on to best female idol vocalists, Sol chose Yuju of Gfriend. The vocal trainer commended how she handles her fade-outs and voice tone, adding, "She's even good singing songs that are not Girlfriend's songs." Though the group parted ways, she looks forward to what kind of vocalist Yuju will become in the future.
Meanwhile, Gina selected f(x) Luna, them calling her a "legend." The former trainee even exclaimed, "Her first album was the best K-pop album released that year."
In 2016, Luna debuted with her EP, "Free Somebody," consisting of six tracks and a title track with the same name. Gina highlighted that every single song in the album is a masterpiece.
The two K-pop insiders also shared that SM trainers claimed that they have never seen anyone like Luna.
Lastly, the "monster rookie" vocalist from aespa Winter was named as one of the best vocalists of K-pop as well. Gina conveyed that Winter reminds her of Yoo Young Jin's vocals. He is an iconic producer and vocal trainee under SM Entertainment who produced and written songs for all generations of SM artists including H.O.T to aespa.
