Former 2NE1 Member Minzy To Debut In Philippines With Local Version Of Song ‘Lovely’

Former 2NE1 member Minzy is set to debut in the Philippines with a new version of "Lovely".

According to reports on November 13, K-pop star Minzy, who was part of 2NE1 with Sandara Park, has signed a deal to be part of local talent agency, Viva.

As revealed this Friday, she will be releasing a new local version of her song, “Lovely,” which will feature Tagalog lyrics, on November 20.

Viva will be in partnership with the former 2NE1 member's self-established entertainment label MZ Entertainment and Open Door Artist Management.

There will be an online press conference planned on a later date to formally welcome Minzy into Viva's fold and to discuss her plans for her foray into local showbiz.

Minzy, referred to by fans as the “Queen Of Dance,” first rose to fame as part of K-pop icons 2NE1.

Park, who started her career in the Philippines, was her co-member along with Bom and CL.

The group is credited as among the trailblazers of K-pop’s popularity overseas with successive hits throughout its 7-year run.

2NE1 disbanded in 2016.



Former 2NE1 Minzy Opens Her Own Entertainment Agency

Former 2NE1 member Minzy has established her own entertainment agency, MZ Entertainment!


On October 22 KST, MZ Entertainment opened up their official social media accounts and informed fans that the agency was set up between Gong Minzy and her sister, Gong Soon Yong.

MZ Entertainment has also opened up a website. Other than Minzy, the agency has also signed Gong Minyoung, also known as KONGSHINE, a contemporary Christian singer. She originally debuted in 2014 with the album "Rebirth" and has charmed fans with her singing ability, powerful rapping, and amazing songwriting skills.


Minzy is a South Korean singer, songwriter, and dancer. She originally debuted under YG Entertainment in the girl group 2NE1 in 2009. The group is one of the most popular and successful girl groups worldwide. In 2016, Minzy left 2NE1 and YG Entertainment following the group's long hiatus.


In May 2016, Minzy sighed with Music Works and was reported to be working on her solo debut. In January 2017, Minzy joined the cast of "Sister's Slam Dunk", alongside Kim Sook, Hong Jin Kyung, Kang Ye Won, Han Chae Won, Hong Jinyoung, and Jeon Somi. She debuted in the show's project group, Unnies, with the single "Right?" Following her appearance on the show, Minzy released her first solo single, "I Wanted To Love" for the soundtrack of the MBC drama "The Rebel".

In April 2017, she debuted as a soloist with her extended play "Minzy Work 01". In 2018, she dropped an all-English single titled "All of You Say".

In 2020, Minzy left Music Works. From then until October 2020, she was an independent artist. In May 2020, she dropped her single "Lovely" as an independent artist.
