EXO's D.O. recently made fans and his fellow members grab their bellies with his answer about the "perilla leaf (Kkaennip) side dish debate," which is a viral topic of discussion currently in Korea.

In the new episode of 'EXO's Travel the World On a Ladder,' the EXO members sat down for a meal and were eating when Suho brought up the topic of the 'perilla leaf debate.' Xiumin wasn't aware of the debate and asked, "What's that?"

So, Suho explained by saying, "You don't know? It's the most heated debate nowadays." He continued to explain the debate to Xiumin and said, "Let's say Xiumin has a girlfriend and they both went out to eat with their mutual friend Suho. While eating, Suho tries to eat a perilla leaf (which are usually clumped together). But it's hard to separate the top leaf from the others, so Xiumin's girlfriend helps Suho to take a leaf off by pressing another leaf down with her chopsticks. Would you be cool with it?"

Xiumin replied by saying, "Pushing it down for you is okay." So, the members went on to ask, "Then what's the limit?" as in at what point would Xiumin be not okay with it. Xiumin went to think for a moment and answered, "Taking off the leaf for Suho would not be okay."

The members turned to D.O. to ask him for his answer. D.O. made all the members and fans laugh as he replied, "I also recently heard about this debate. If perilla leaves were served? I'm just going to seperate them all apart from the start." The subtitle showed D.O.'s strong urge to not even start the controversy.

Xiumin agreed and said, "Yeah, that would be the easy way." D.O. continued to say, "Why is that such a controversy? Can't you just separate all of them from the start?"

Then Kai went on to ask, "It doesn't have to be perilla leaves. For example, I'm trying to eat a shrimp but then your girlfriend suddenly peels a shrimp and gives it to me." D.O. and Sehun both raised their voice and went to reply, saying, "That's too much," while D.O. said, "Just peel and eat it yourselves!!"
