On February 18, the Circle Chart Music Awards took place for the first time since rebranding under a new name last year. The awards are primarily determined by the commercial performance of songs and albums based on the Circle charts, and data from their new global K-pop charts was included for the first time this year.
As in previous years, the Artist of the Year awards are divided into two categories: digital music and physical albums. The digital music awards were given to the 12 songs with the highest digital downloads and streams for each month from December 2021 to November 2022, while the physical album awards were given to the four albums with the highest sales for each quarter during the same period.
