BTS V is now the most-followed person in the world on Instagram in the first 24 hours since his account was launched. He has also broken the record for the most-liked post by an Asian artist.
BTS V Smashes Record for the Most-Followed Person on Instagram within 24 Hours
On Day 6, Kim Taehyung (V's real name) along with his fellow BTS members launched his personal Instagram account in almost eight years since his debut. His very first post is a skeleton of what appears to be a dinosaur.
It has only been more than a day since BTS V's Instagram account opened, but he's already breaking a lot of records. One of these is the world record for the most followers gained in the first 24 hours - more than 19 million followers were recorded.
With this, Taehyung has surpassed Jennifer Aniston's record of 8.6 million followers after 24 hours. He also becomes the fastest person in history to garner 19 million Instagram followers.

Remarkably, BTS V exceeded 10 million Instagram followers in four hours and 47 minutes since his account was launched, beating Angelina Jolie's record for the fastest person to hit 10 million followers. Jolie achieved the feat in five hours. Reports also say that Kim Taehyung broke the record for the fastest person to reach one to nine million followers.
BTS V Breaks the Record for the Most-Liked Post by an Asian Artist
In addition to claiming the record for the most-followed person on Instagram in the first 24 hours, Taehyung also now holds the record for the most likes for a post made by an Asian act.
On Dec. 7, BTS V uploaded a few photos, one is black and white and the other one is a selfie of him with shaving cream. The post quickly accumulated millions of like until it surpassed 14 million.
With over 14 million likes, Kim Taehyung has broken BLACKPINK Lisa's record of 12 million likes, which she gained with her photo of her with her bandmate Jisoo cosplaying during Halloween. What's more, V is the first, fastest, and only Asian act to reach 14 million likes in Instagram history. Taehyung's post has more than 14.9 million likes as of writing.
Further, the "Blue & Grey" writer smashed Billie Eilish's record of hitting one million likes within six minutes by attaining the same number of likes in just four minutes.
Since it has only been two days since BTS V's Instagram account was launched, it is expected that he will break more world records in the coming months.
Meanwhile, Taehyung's aforementioned milestones are yet to be confirmed by the Guinness World Records. According to their criteria,

As of writing, BTS V has five posts and all of them have more than 10 million likes, becoming the first and only Korean artist to have five posts with the said number of likes. Because of his continuous achievements, fans call Taehyung the "Instagram King."
