BTS, TWICE, GOT7 And ENHYPEN: Some Big Changes On This Week’s World Songs Chart
A week after they revealed their latest Korean-language set BE, BTS dominates the World Digital Song Sales chart, filling nine of the 25 rungs on the weekly tally. While they may occupy the most sopt (and the highest seven spots at once), several other well-known stars from their home country either push their tunes toward the peak or debut new cuts on the ranking. Either way, there’s a lot of exciting movement on this week’s chart.
Here are five tracks with moves are worth noting on this week’s World Digital Song Sales chart.
No. 1 - BTS - “Life Goes On”
After debuting in first place last week, BTS’s latest single “Life Goes On” is on top of the World Digital Song Sales chart for a second stint, but that’s not surprising, considering the cut also earns another turn as the bestselling tune of any kind in the U.S. What is impressive is the fact that the South Korean septet continues to control more than half of the top 10 on the ranking this frame, placing seven of the highest 10 spots.
Almost all of those songs are either steady or lose ground, while former leader “Filter,” which has now spent almost 40 weeks on the World Digital Song Sales chart, returns to the top five, rising from No. 7 to No. 3.
No. 9 - TWICE - “I Can’t Stop Me”
South Korean girl group TWICE cause a big impact on the World Digital Song Sales chart in 2020, with their single “I Can’t Stop Me” becoming one of their biggest successes. The track found its way to No. 1, it is proved that the act’s popularity yet again, and since then, it’s continued to perform well. This week, the big jumps up the tally, vaulting from No. 21 back into the top 10, settling at No. 9.
No. 10 - GOT7 - “Last Piece”
GOT7, another South Korean vocal band (there’s a trend going on here) is back on the World Digital Song Sales chart once again with their latest release “Last Piece,” which comes from their latest project Breath of Love: Last Piece. The single opens at No. 10 on this week’s ranking, returning the act to the highest reaches of the list once again. Throughout their time together, the group has now appeared somewhere between Nos. 1 and 10 with 18 different cuts, and they have placed a total of 32 titles on the tally.
No. 13 - ENHYPEN - “Given-Taken”
Enhypen is a brand new boy band in South Korea, and while they’re just getting joined in the highly competitive field of K-pop, they are already off to a fantastic start. The group’s first EP Border: Day One was released just over a week ago, and amazingly, half of the songs featured on the title find their way to the World Digital Song Sales chart this frame.
Up first from the band is “Given-Taken,” which debuts at No. 13. At the bottom of the tally, “Let Me In (20 Cube)” and “Ficker” launch at Nos. 24 and 25, respectively. The songs mark the first three placements on the World Digital Song Sales chart for Enhypen, but they surely won't be the last.
No. 15 - Kai - “Mmmh”
Kai must be one of the busiest musicians in South Korea, as he has already made his impact as a member of the bands Exo, Exo-K (a sub-band of Exo), and SuperM, and all of them have enjoyed massive success throughout the years. Now, he’s going on his own with a self-titled EP and a single called “Mmmh.” That tune lands at No. 15 on the latest edition of the World Digital Song Sales ranking, giving him yet another appearance on the tally, but with a different name.
