This week, the British Phonographic Industry (BPI) announced that Jungkook’s official solo debut single “Seven” (featuring Latto) had received an official BRIT silver certification, making it his first solo song to achieve the feat.
According to the BPI’s certification thresholds, singles are certified silver at 200,000 units sold, while albums are certified silver at 60,000 units sold.
Notably, Jungkook is the first Korean solo artist since PSY to have a single certified silver in the United Kingdom. PSY previously went silver with his hits “Gangnam Style” (which was eventually certified double platinum) and “Gentleman,” the latter of which earned its silver certification nearly a decade ago in 2014.
Congratulations to Jungkook!
