Even AOA Jimin’s profile is involved in the issue.

BTS‘s Jimin is being targeted on the music streaming platform Spotify in more ways than one.

BTS’s Jimin

Firstly, AOA Jimin‘s profile on Spotify is being inappropriately displayed as BTS’s Jimin.

AOA’s Jimin

The AOA member has a solo Spotify page that includes her tracks from when she was a semi-finalist in the first season of Mnet‘s rap competition reality show Unpretty Rapstar in 2015.

Unpretty Rapstar is a South Korean rap competition TV show that airs on Mnet. It is known as the female counterpart of Show Me The Money. The contestants compete with each other to get a chance to participate in the new song that the producers made.

At the time of writing, the Spotify profile for AOA’s Jimin has a photo of BTS’s Jimin from the “Proof” concept photos for the group’s latest album Proof. Yet, the tracklisting is for her.

Interestingly, BTS Jimin’s Spotify profile has his profile picture different. Instead, it’s from the “Door” concept photoshoot rather than “Proof.”

Additionally, the About section for AOA’s Jimin is for BTS’s Jimin rather than her. It credited the artist as the one who edited but the information and photo as “Hybe Fan-Club.” The profile picture is also the one used for BTS Jimin’s page.

So, while ARMY is reporting the issue to Spotify as a continuing error in the system, it might be intentional.

It might be the case that someone hacked into AOA Jimin’s Spotify account, using the verified status to their advantage to impersonate BTS’s Jimin. For example, the following has suddenly grown a lot and continues to.

That’s not all, though. This week, Jimin’s solo “Promise” was added by an unfamiliar source to music streaming platforms, although he had only released it via Soundcloud on December 31, 2018. This isn’t even the first time this has occurred, causing ARMY’s concern.

“Promise” has since been removed from BTS Jimin’s Spotify profile, but AOA Jimin’s Spotify remains with his profile picture.
