BTS RM, J-Hope, and Suga Revealed to Have Participated in Making 'My Universe'
On September 24, BTS and Coldplay released their collab My Universe, a song such in English and Korean that expresses a warm affection to someone who is like the universe.
BTS RM, J-Hope, and Suga Contributed to My Universe Collaboration With Coldplay
My Universe will be included in Coldplay Music of the Spheres, their 9th album, set for official release on October 15.
BTS rappers J-Hope (Jung Hoseok), RM (Kim Namjoon), and Suga (Min Yoongi) are included in the song's composer credits. All of them have a full membership in the Korea Music Copyright Association, which is given to artists who have risen to the top of the royalties list.
Aside from that, they are also the composers of some songs that reached number one on the Billboard Main Single Chart Hot 100.
J-Hope and Suga were the composers of Savage Love remix last October 2020. They were the first Korean musicians to be included on the Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 song credits.
Last November 30, 2020, RM, Suga, and J-Hope participated in composing the BTS hit single Life Goes On, which topped the Billboard Hot 100.
Further, leader RM participated as lyricist and composer of the megahit Butter, which became No. 1 for 10 consecutive weeks.
Coldplay is a British group that debuted in 2000, and won seven Grammy Awards. In order to collaborate with BTS, Chris Martin went to Korea and initially self-isolated.
Upon releasing the song, he introduced BTS as "The 21st century pop Icon that has set numerous records through their sincere music, best performances, and exchanges with fans."

My Universe Tops the iTunes Top Song Charts
iTunes stated that BTS x Coldplay My Universe was released through domestic and foreign music sites at 1 PM (KST) on September 24 in the United States, Canada, Italy, France, Russia, Philippines, Thailand and Japan.
In a total of 65 countries and regions, the song topped the iTunes Top Song Charts.
My Universe marks Coldplay and BTS collaboration for the first time. The members of both groups participated in writing and composing the lyrics to heighten perfection.
Max Martin, who worked with world-famous pop stars like The Weeknd, Taylor Swift, and Ariana Grande, was the producer of BTS x Coldplay My Universe.
The song's theme is inclusion and harmony that transcends all of boundaries and discrimination.
Chris Martin, Coldplay's vocalist and keyboardist, came to Korea under self-quarantine for the collaboration. He met with BTS at the HYBE office building and they started working on the collaboration.
To celebrate the song's release, Chris Martin greeted Korean music fans through Warner Music Korea's official SNS last September 24.
Meanwhile, BTS leader RM shared a video of himself while singing My Universe in the recording studio with Chris Martin. He said that it was really fun, through BTS official Twitter on the afternoon of the same day.
