Mnet’s “Boys Planet” is the new male version of the 2021 audition show that gave rise to Kep1er. Normally, a program would have one MC who would lead the contestants from start to finish. However, “Boys Planet” takes on a new system with “Star Masters,” who change with each mission. Each Star Master will be a senior artist who will act as a role model for the trainees and share different kinds of advice with them.
The program’s fourth Star Master is BTOB’s Minhyuk, who joins previous Star Masters Hwang Minhyun, Sunmi, and Yeo Jin Goo. As a member of BTOB, Minhyuk has showcased his wide array of talents from rapping, singing, dancing, composing, and DJing. He has also impressed with his solo music as HUTA that captures a different side of the artist.
Producing director (PD) Kim Shin Young of “Boys Planet” commented, “Lee Minhyuk enhanced the set atmosphere through his chemistry with the trainees that overrode their senior-junior relationship. In addition to his firm image as a senior, you will also be able to see [Minhyuk’s] sensible performance as an MC.”
Minhyuk will serve as the Star Master for the upcoming second mission on “Boys Planet.” The latest episode of “Boys Planet” featured the program’s first ranking ceremony and eliminations, and the next broadcast will air on March 9 at 8:50 p.m. KST.
