This cartoon koala kept on getting between BTS's RM and ARMYs, and fans are not liking it.
BT21 characters were introduced in late September 2017 when BTS collaborated with LINE FRIENDS. The Bangtan Boys were given the chance to create their own characters, which end up reflecting each member. Koya is an adorable koala that RM designed. He is described as brilliant, multi-talented, and a gifted sleepyhead. He has a purple nose and removable ears.
In spite of Koya's great characteristics, ARMYs are just not happy with what he usually does - block the view! BTS's editors use Koya to censor RM's wardrobe accidents and shirtless workouts. The character's latest appearance was in the behind-the-scenes video at the 62nd GRAMMY Awards that was uploaded on BTS's official YouTube account on October 21.
In the video, there was a part wherein BTS's J-Hope was getting his hair done and RM can be seen behind him exercising, but BARELY, because Koya was there to do his job once again, and it is really driving ARMYs crazy. Fans took to their social media and uploaded photos and clips about Koya's latest cameo, and expressed how they feel about the koala always getting in the way.
Koya's previous appearance was on October 1 in a 'BTS Basketball' video that was uploaded on BANGTAN TV. In the part nearing the end, RM and Jin can be seen playing. Koya was also there, not to play but to again block the view and save the day for RM.
Meanwhile, RM and the other BTS members are getting ready for their upcoming album "BE," in which they will all participate in producing. According to a press release, the K-pop boy group's album conveys a message of healing to the world. "BE will be the very first self-produced album of Bangtan Sonyeondan as well as their first album in eight months after "Map of the Soul: 7 that was released on February 21. According to Gaon Chart, the latter album was able to sell more than 4.1 million copies in only nine days after it was released, breaking the record of their previous album "Map of the Soul: Persona. Considering this, "Map of the Soul: 7 has become the best-selling album in the history of South Korea.
Other than that, the album topped the US Billboard 200 with a total of 422,000 copies purchased in just one week, making BTS the fastest act to achieve four No. 1 albums since 1968 with the Beatles.
