Congratulations, BLACKPINK!

On November 10, 'Bloomberg' published its "Pop Star Power Rankings" list for the month of November, with the eye-catching headline, "BLACKPINK Is the Biggest Pop Band In the World, A First For South Korea"!

According to the report, K-Pop's very own BLACKPINK have officially ranked #1 on the November 'Pop Star Power Rankings' chart, over Cardi BJustin Bieber, and more. BLACKPINK has just become the first-ever musical artist from Asia and South Korea to top the 'Bloomberg' list.

"BLACKPINK has been the most popular act on Youtube for the past couple of months, generating more than 1 billion views in October alone. The group was also the second most popular act on Spotify. While their album failed to debut at #1 in the U.S, it was still one of the 10 best-sellers in the country for the month. All told, BLACKPINK is the biggest music act in the world, according to Bloomberg's 'Pop Star Power Rankings."

"Alongside the boy group BTS, BLACKPINK has achieved a level of global popularity unpreceedented in the history of music. Musicians that speak English have travelled all over the world for decades. Musicians that speak Spanish have started to top the charts across the Western hemishphere over the last decade. But only in the past couple of years have acts from Asia developed such strong followings across the U.S., Europe and Latin America."

Jeremy Erlich - the Vice President, Global Co-Head of Music, and Head of Music Strategy, recently has set up a meeting with YG, during which the Korean music giant outlined the goals for its new four-member girl group. "The ambition was to be the biggest band in the world," Erlich said. "They said 'How do they become the Spice Girls?"

The monthly ranking systems incorporate 6 categories including live gross ticket sales, album sales, Spotify streams, YouTube views, Instagram interactions, etc. To read 'Bloomberg's full report, visit the website here.
