On December 4 at around 6:10 a.m. KST, BLACKPINK’s music video for their 2019 hit “Kill This Love” surpassed 1.9 billion views on YouTube.
Notably, “Kill This Love” is only the second K-pop group music video in history to hit the 1.9 billion mark, following BLACKPINK’s own “DDU-DU DDU-DU.” It is also only the third K-pop music video to reach the milestone overall (the first being PSY’s “Gangnam Style”).
Not only is BLACKPINK currently the only K-pop group ever to surpass 1.9 billion views with a music video, but they are also now the first K-pop artist to reach the milestone with more than one video.
“Kill This Love” was originally released on April 5, 2019 at midnight KST, meaning that it took the video just over 4 years, 7 months, and 29 days to hit the 1.8 billion mark.
Congratulations to BLACKPINK!
