From August to September, fourth-generation K-pop groups are having fierce competition in comebacks, and all of them are showing significant growth.

These seasons of summer and fall, fourth-generation idol groups - including Stray Kids, TXT, ITZY, STAYC, and more - have released and are about to drop new songs and albums for their much-anticipated comeback in the K-pop scene. Which among them do you think would dominate the second half of the year?

On account of this, the interest of media and the music industry is centered on which group will reign in the second half of the year with their newest releases.

Stray Kids, TXT, and The Boyz Kick Off Comeback Battle among Fourth-Generation Idol Groups in the Second Half of 2021

In August, K-pop boy groups TXT, The Boyz, and Stray Kids have already begun a new set of comeback battles among the fourth-generation idol groups, and each achieved remarkable results.

On Aug. 9, The Boyz returned with their sixth mini-album, entitled "THRILL-ING." This album sold 520,000 copies in the first week of release, becoming the group's first half-million-seller work since their debut.

On Aug. 18, TXT released their first repackaged album, "The Chaos Chapter: FIGHT OR ESCAPE," which contains the title song "LO$ER=LOVER."

TXT's "LO$ER=LOVER" debuted at No. 6 on the Billboard World Digital Song Sales Chart for the week ending on Aug. 28. For the week ending on Sept. 4, the track entered at No. 132 on Billboard Global 200 Excl. US and at No. 184 on Billboard Global 200.

TXT's repackaged album "The Chaos Chapter: FIGHT OR ESCAPE" even topped Japan's Oricon Daily Album Chart, while "LO$ER=LOVER" ranked first on Line Music's Daily Top Song Chart.

Meanwhile, Stray Kids made a comeback on Aug. 23 with their new studio album "NOEASY," which roughly tripled the group's previous first-week sales record. It is also the first-ever JYP Entertainment-produced album to become a million-seller.

ITZY, STAYC, ATEEZ, & ENHYPEN Heat Up Comeback Battle among Fourth-Generation Idol Groups in the Second Half of 2021

Now that September has begun, more fourth-generation idol groups are lined up to make their return with more new releases.

STAYC will be back in five months with a mini-album "STEREOTYPE," which is set for release on Sept. 6. It is the sextet's first mini-album to be released since their debut in November 2020.

Even though STAYC just made their debut last year, expectations are high as they already attained numerous milestones including entering the weekly chart of Billboard K-pop 100.

ATEEZ ZERO FEVER Part. 3

On Sept. 13, ATEEZ will drop their seventh mini-album "ZERO: FEVER Part. 3." The fourth-generation idol group has recently given previews of their new songs "Déjà vu" and "Eternal Sunshine," and even opened voting to the fans to determine which of these two new songs they will use as the title track for their upcoming mini-album.

Another K-pop girl group that will make a comeback this September is ITZY. In particular, the quintet will drop their first full-length album "Crazy in Love on Sept. 24.

People's attention is also focused on ITZY's first full-length album as the girl group has solidified their presence on Billboard charts such as Billboard 200 and Artist 100.

Aside from "Crazy in Love," ITZY will also be making their Japanese debut to further expand their activities outside of South Korea.

ENHYPEN

ENHYPEN, who is emerging as one of the top fourth-generation idol groups, is gearing up for their return at the end of September with a new album. It is an album that comes after five months since the release of the group's second mini-album "BORDER: CARNIVAL."

"BORDER: CARNIVAL" sold 520,000 copies in just five days of its release on the Gaon Chart, making ENHYPEN a half-million-seller within six months of their debut.
