Gaon Chart is a physical album chart based on the total number of albums shipped from record labels / distributors (unlike Hanteo which only takes actual sales into account). Gaon Chart's data are often used as a basis for year-end music awards in South Korea. Recently, Gaon announced the summary of album sales of K-Pop artists in October 2020.
In Gaon Chart's history, this is the first month ever where there are 3 artists with more than 1 million copies sold. In addition, many other artists also showed rapid album sales growth. The situation was much better than the previous month.
Note:
- Album sales are only counted from October 1 to October 31.
- It is not necessary for an album to be released in October. As long as it is sold in October, it will be counted.
- Only K-Pop idols (soloists, groups) are counted.
