Rookie actress Park Hye Eun was allegedly dropped from the series due to "poor acting," and "feeling pressure from her first lead role." tvN stated she felt immense pressure as lead and decided to withdraw from the cast.
It was then reported Jung So Min was in talks of taking over the lead role. Her label Blossom Entertainment clarified, "It's true she was offered a role in 'Resurrection,' but nothing has been confirmed."
Later in the day, Park Hye Eun has shared a personal post about the recent news that she had stepped down from her drama.
Park Hye Eun took to her personal Instagram account to share photos and videos from the drama and added her personal thoughts. She wrote, “There were some ambiguous regrets and complicated feelings, but in the end, I hope that ‘Resurrection’ will be completed without issues. Even if things got tangled up, I will think of it as individual good intentions. Thank you to all those who were concerned about it. I will soon remove this post.”
Meanwhile, although Jung So Min is still considering the role, there have been netizens and fans who are against the idea of the actress taking over the lead role. Netizens gathered to an online community to express their thoughts on the matter.
