Fans of Nicole Kidman red carpet style can now channel their idol for a good cause.
Julia von Boehm, the “Big Little Lies” star’s longtime stylist and creative director at InStyle, is offering up her services for charity.
Her Donate With Style program allows anyone in need of fashion advice to book a virtual consultation session with the expert, with 100 percent of proceeds going to the coronavirus relief fund of their choice. A 30-minute session costs $150, while an hour is priced at $300.
When booking, the client can choose between three organizations — World Central Kitchen, World Health Organization COVID-19 Response Fund and Center for Disaster Philanthropy COVID-19 Response Fund — and pay the amount directly as a donation before forwarding the receipt to von Boehm’s team.
“I wanted to find a way to help, [but] because I am not a doctor or a medical professional, I wanted to use my expertise in a creative way to make a difference,” the stylist told People, adding that she will focus on reimagining clients’ closets to combine their favorite pieces in new, unexpected ways.
“A time like this inspires fashion to be recyclable and more sustainable both environmentally and economically,” von Boehm said. “We have to find gems in our own closets and shop in a very curated way now that we can’t go out and shop with the same consumerism that we did before.”
Other celebrity stylists offering similar virtual services with a portion of proceeds benefitting COVID-19 relief include Katie Holmes’ stylist Allison Bornstein and Girls Girls Girls magazine style director Alicia Lombardini, who focuses on men’s styling needs.
