KBS 2TV’s upcoming drama “Dear.M” has confirmed its starring cast!

On September 3, KBS announced that NCT’s JaehyunKim Sae Ron, Bae Hyun Sung, and Park Hye Soo would all be starring in “Dear.M,” its upcoming spin-off of the hit web drama series “Love Playlist.”

“Dear.M” will tell the story of the campus-wide search for the mysterious “M,” an individual who is mentioned in an anonymous post on a Seoyeon University online community. The realistic romance drama will follow the changing relationships and budding romances between various characters in the wake of all the buzz about “M.”

Jaehyun will be making his highly-anticipated acting debut as male lead Cha Min Ho, a clever and imaginative second-year computer-engineering student who comes up with an idea to develop an exciting new app. Park Hye Soo will star as Ma Joo Ah, a cheerful second-year business administration major who has never had a boyfriend and is constantly meddling in others’ affairs due to her generous and inquisitive nature. The two sophomores are childhood friends who have been BFFs for the past 12 years.

Meanwhile, Kim Sae Ron and Bae Hyun Sung will be reprising their roles from the fourth season of “Love Playlist,” where they played Seoyeon University students Seo Ji Min and Park Ha Neul respectively. In “Dear.M,” they will continue to give viewers butterflies as a beloved campus couple, but the character of Park Ha Neul will also set out to achieve his dream of becoming a game developer.

The producers of “Dear.M” remarked, “‘Dear.M’ is a new KBS drama for which ‘Love Playlist’ writer Lee Seul has joined forces with Park Jin Woo, the director of KBS’s 2-part music drama ‘to. Jenny,’ and Seo Joo Wan, the director of ‘I Hate Going to Work’ and ‘Love Revolution.'”

They went on, “Please keep an eye on what kind of love and concerns each of the characters who is entangled with ‘M’ will experience, as well as how they grow amidst fierce competition, against a backdrop of relatable dialogue and sentimental direction.”

“Dear.M” is currently aiming to premiere sometime in the first half of 2021.
