Start-Up” is a drama that set in a fictional South Korean version of Silicon Valley (an imaginary place inspired by the United States Silicon Valley) where young dreamers make efforts to achieve success in the world of many start-up companies is rising. Suzy stars as Seo Dal Mi, an adventurer who has a big dream to become Korea’s Steve Jobs, while Nam Joo Hyuk plays the role of Samsan Tech founder Nam Do San, one of the biggest technology companies in Silicon Valley.

Spoilers

In the previous episode, Seo Dal Mi detected everything about her first love, which endangered her relationship with Nam Do San. It turned out that Han Ji Pyung (Kim Seon Ho) was the one who actually wrote those letters to her at the request of her grandmother Choi Won Deok (Kim Hae Sook).

Seo Dal Mi was crushed by the lying, and in turn, Nam Do San was heartbroken for putting her in that situation. However, he reminded her that she was the real reason for Samsan Tech to be able to enter Silicon Valley, which once again gave her faith and conviction to rise as a leader.

Between questions about their relationship, the drama revealed new stills that show Seo Dal Mi and Nam Do San on a romantic date. The two are sitting in a fancy restaurant, and the atmosphere looks mellow and sweet, their expressions are hollow of joy. Suzy gazes worriedly at Nam Do San, whose face is bruised and bandaged, and questions are asking about what happened to him.

The drama also gave a peek at the brewing conflict between Han Ji Pyung and Kim Yong San (Kim Do Wan).

At the end of the last episode, Kim Yong San asked Han Ji Pyung, “Tell me. Why did you kill my brother?” Han Ji Pyung answered, “I don’t know your brother. I didn’t even know you had one.” His remark angered Kim Yong San who snapped, “I didn’t expect you to mourn for him, but I didn’t know you wouldn’t remember him at all.

In the second set of stills, Han Ji Pyung and Kim Yong San face-off with raging eyes. Han Ji Pyung looks like he’s in disbelief, while Kim Yong San’s eyes burn with revenge. The truth will come out in the upcoming episode of “Start-Up.

On November 22, tvN revealed new stills of the Samsan Tech team looking bad despite achieving first place at Demo Day. Seo Dal Mi, Nam Do San, Han Ji Pyung (Kim Seon Ho), Lee Chul San (Yoo Su Bin), Kim Yong San (Kim Do Wan), and Jung Sa Ha (Stephanie Lee) all have an expression of shock on their faces. Seo Dal Mi appears to be in disbelief, while Nam Do San looks like he’s been utterly let down. Even Samsan Tech’s mentor Han Ji Pyung looks so sorrowful. Lee Chul San and Kim Yong San are furious and on the verge of tears, and Jung Sa Ha has stopped in her tracks. It’s apparent that something awful has hit Samsan Tech.

Previously, Samsan Tech enjoyed a streak of achievements. They won against Injae Company at Demo Day, and Alex (Jasper Cho) of 2STO stated he would buy Samsan Tech for 3 billion won (approximately $2.7 million).

Near the end of the previous episode, Han Ji Pyung looked over 2STO’s contract for Samsan Tech and caught the hidden clause, “When the contract ends, your team will be broken apart.” This discovery by Han Ji Pyung may have something to do with the reactions of the Samsan Tech members shown in the stills.

The next episode of “Start-Up” airs on November 22 at 9 p.m. KST.
