Shin Se Kyung has joined IU’s agency EDAM Entertainment!

On July 5, a source from EDAM Entertainment shared, “Shin Se Kyung has decided to sign an exclusive contract with EDAM Entertainment. After we wrap up discussions regarding the contract, we’ll release an official statement this afternoon.”
Recently, Shin Se Kyung parted ways with Namoo Actors, the agency she has been with for 19 years since her debut. On July 5, a source from Namoo Actors confirmed, “We have terminated the exclusive contract with Shin Se Kyung.”
In response to the news, IU has warmly welcomed her first labelmate. Later in the day, IU posted a photo of rice cakes that EDAM Entertainment staff shared throughout Kakao M, which EDAM is a subsidiary of.
The message written on the box reads as follows:
"EDAM has welcomed a new family member.
We are sharing rice cakes in celebration.
Please show lots of interest and love for our new family member from now on.
Everyone in Kakao M, enjoy eating [the rice cakes] and gain strength today also!!"
IU wrote in her caption, “Oh yay, a new family member,” with emoticons of a chick and heart.
Shin Se Kyung also took to her Instagram Stories to reveal welcome gifts she received. EDAM Entertainment staff gifted her a cake with her dogs Jin Guk and Sa Rang.
In addition, IU gave Shin Se Kyung a signed album with the sweet message, “Let’s become close friends! Thank you.”
Shin Se Kyung made her debut in 1998 through the poster for “Take Five,” a track from Seo Taiji and Boys’ fifth album. She captivated viewers with numerous hit dramas including “Tree With Deep Roots,” “Six Flying Dragons,” “Rookie Historian Goo Hae Ryung,” and “Run On,” along with the films “Cinderella,” “Hindsight,” and “Tazza: The Hidden Card.”
