MBC’s new Wednesday drama “A Good Day to Be a Dog” released a new behind-the-scenes look at the script reading!

Based on a webtoon, “A Good Day to Be a Dog” is a fantasy romance drama about a woman who is cursed to transform into a dog when she kisses a man. However, the only person who can undo her curse is a man who is afraid of dogs due to a traumatic event he can no longer remember.

In addition to director Kim Dae Woong and scriptwriter Baek In Ah, cast members ASTRO’s Cha Eun Woo, Park Gyu Young, Lee Hyun Woo, Yoon Hyun Soo, Ryu Abel, Jo Jin Se, Yoo Seung Mok, Lee Seo El, Song Young Ah, and more gathered together at the first script reading which was full of smiles and laughter.

After introducing themselves, the actors began to test their chemistry, immersing themselves into the script. Cha Eun Woo plays Jin Seo Won, Han Hae Na’s (Park Gyu Young’s) colleague and fellow teacher who is afraid of dogs due to past trauma. The actor captivated the set with his similarity to his character as well as his portrayal of a figure who transforms through an unexpected meeting despite his trauma.

Park Gyu Young transformed into the beautiful, intelligent, and perfect Han Hae Na who has a refreshing personality. Although she appears to have an easy life, she is cursed to transform into a dog whenever she is kissed. Park Gyu Young raised anticipation for her portrayal of Han Hae Na by amplifying the charms her character possesses.

Lee Hyun Woo created an immersive set with his transformation into Lee Bo Kyum, who has a sharp side behind his amicable smile. The actor showcased his solid acting skills by easily going back and forth from his affectionate side to showcasing his cold nature, raising anticipation for his chemistry with Cha Eun Woo and Park Gyu Young.

Furthermore, Yoon Hyun Soo plays Jin Seo Won’s nephew Choi Yul, while Ryu Abel and Jo Jin Se play Han Hae Na’s close friends. Yoo Seung Mok, Lee Seo El, and Song Young Ah also charmed at the script reading with their memorable acting.

Following the script reading, Cha Eun Woo remarked, “We all participated in the script reading together, and we had fun because our chemistry was so great. If you view the overall chemistry comfortably with a smile, you will be able to watch the drama even more enjoyably.”

Park Gyu Young commented, “The romance between a woman who transforms into a dog and a man who really hates dogs felt charming to me. Please show lots of interest and love.”

Finally, Lee Hyun Woo shared, “Viewers will be able to enjoy [the drama] even more if they watch while comparing how in sync the webtoon is to the drama.”

“A Good Day to Be a Dog” will premiere in October and air every Wednesday.
