An official from a drama bureau revealed on March 2 that Cha Eun Woo will appear in the drama 'Island', which will be broadcast on OCN in the second half of this year. However, ASTRO's agency Fantagio responded that, "Cha Eun Woo has been offered a role in Island, and is reviewing positively."
'Island' tells the story of a man who needs a woman to end his cursed immortal life, while the woman does not know her fate and destiny. It is a heartwarming and strange exorcism fantasy drama in which those who seem to never fit in "Island", which is a scenic view of heaven but has evil darkness, join forces to protect and sacrifice for each other.
Cha Eun Woo has been offered the role of the hip exorcist Kang Chan Hyuk (also known as Yohan) in the drama. He is the 132nd apostle of the Vatican's miracle political situation group, and a priest who is still innocent and has a cute boy-like aura. Although he grew up in the U.S., he have been studying Korean through dramas to remember his hometown. He looks cheerful, but he has a dark past behind him.
'Island' will start filming this spring. Kim Nam Gil and Seo Ye Ji decided to star in the drama. It is a masterpiece that has a lot of filming in Jeju Island and the season 2 is already under discussion. Each season is expected to be comprised of 10 episodes. It is based on an original cartoon of the same name and directed by Bae Jong.
